Agent-based simulation of a pandemic

An agent based simulation in infectious disease epidemics, we can specify assumptive patterns to each individuals (human=agent), and program each individuals as an object. With this method we do not need actuarial assumptions of contacts and interactions between individuals, likewise when we construct mathematical models, and just let the calculation of the program simulate the epidemic. This method allows to understand and implement the effect of individual level movements, and interactions, which is intricate to incorporate in formulas.

The following video visualizes a day (day 50 from the start of the epidemic) of residents and movement and infectious routes. From the start of the day to the midst, individuals move from households to workplace, and schools to households. By visualizing movements of individuals, it allows to captures the routes of infection in reality, and estimate how much movement contributes to the growth of an epidemic.
